East Perth v West Perth
Look for: The Royals to push the Falcons all the way in a clash which will have a major say in
determining the make-up of the top four with the teams also playing for the Jeremy Silcock
Memorial Challenge Shield.
West Perth is currently third while East Perth sit sixth, yet only a game separates these two with
the Royals enjoying a superior percentage.
The spoils have been shared in the two derbies between these sides earlier in the year, hinting
there’s no clear favourite here.
On form, the Royals have won their past three matches, while West Perth has responded to
their ordinary three-goal showing against the Bulldogs in Round 16 with back-to-back victories over
Subiaco and Peel.
Brendan Lee and Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls have been in top form lately for the Royals, while
reliable West Perth pair Matthew Guadagnin and Brent LeCras have found touch in recent weeks.
Looking good in the ressies:
Teenager James Delborrello was decisive in the narrow win over Peel in the reserves last weekend,
with 25 possessions, 10 marks and five goals. Ben Noakes and Jacob Lalich again worked hard to press for a seniors recall.
For the Falcons, Alex James and Paul Elisseou were dominant in the reserves a fortnight ago, with
32 and 27 touches respectively.
Overall record: East Perth won
160, West Perth won 154, Drawn 5
Overall grand final record:
