After the bye, we have 4 games to either grab a spot in the 4 or just fade away and be the first subi team in how many years? to miss the finals. We are certainly good enough to play finals if we play to potential and get our best players fit and on the park. The attitude shown in the last 2 games has been disgraceful, apart from a few in Rix, Webby, Broardy, Horse, Blech, Hildo, there are not too many that can say they are giving 100%
Claremont after the bye, we did ok against them last time before they moved away late in the game, but if we take the current attitude in against them we will get a shellacking that will be disastrous for our % and % will decide the final placings, as many as 4 teams could end up on equal points.
After that we have 3 very winnable games (well on paper anyway) against EF & EP both at Leedo then what could be a be all and end all last game against Souths down at the port.
I believe we are a good chance of getting Cockie, Read, Forrest & Bristow back for the Cl game, all quality midfielders when up and going, as we are not expected to win, it will be a good run through for these guys before the final 3 games. Win all three and we end up on 12 wins which should guarantee a finals spot. Win 2 and it’s down to %. Win only 1 and you can safely book an early September holiday.
You think you really deserve a spot in the finals given the form of West Perth and South Fremantle. Bulldogs win this week and Subiaco are out of the 4 on percentage playing claremont the week after. This team is just making up the numbers and need dramatic improvement to be competitive for the rest of the season, let alone finals. If the rumours about Read are true he should be automatically dismissed by this club.

Pointless & irrelevant comment Boc, 2/3 weeks ago some Joondy supporters were lamenting their poor form at the time and almost conceding the season, and before that so were Souths. Since then both those teams have won a couple in a row and are in or threatening the 4. Lets face it, whoever finishes 3rd or 4th are only making up numbers as the top 2 are streets ahead. Subi are currently in the 4 but could well slip out after the bye and the Cl game but the 4 teams that play this weekend still have a bye to come. The teams that actually make it into 3rd and 4th place will deserve to be there due to winning sufficient games & sufficient %. Subi’s season has been one of bursts, lost the first 2, win the next 6, then lose 3, win 3 and lose 2 so far. With important players to back in after the bye who knows. A run of 3 wins in the last 4 will see them comfortably in the finals, anything can happen.
Subi are in a group of 5 teams that still have a chance of making finals, lets see what happens over the next 5 weeks.
As for the Read situation, I’ve heard lots of stories, from work commitments, to recurrence of foot injury to a holiday. If it’s the later then the club & Chop are letting down the team and supporters and that situation should not be allowed to continue. A fit Read playing a full season is a huge asset to Subi, something we have not had much of this year along with Cockie, Bristow or Forrest and throw Newick in there as well.

You made these statements clearly intimating that we dont deserve to be there but WP & Souths do, 4 games out from the finals. It’s pointless making a sweeping statement like that because nothing has been resolved yet. Souths and Joondy could both lose their next games, given the topsy turvy form of all clubs from 3 - 7 that’s a reasonable possibility.
Tell us we dont deserve to be there if we dont actually make it, I’ll cop it sweet then.

I can’t see us getting over the Tiges...we’ve traditionally had trouble with EP at home...EF won’t be a snack depending on which AFL players they have and Souths at Freo will be tough if they have a sniff at finishing in the four and going by last weekend...so dont be surprised if we finish 5th or 6th.
Must agree. There are a few players that need an attitude change. We need to play at our very best to make it into the September action.

Totally disagree with that comment, Claremont are a massive problem, we have won 7 out of 8 qaurters v Swans and if we can make the finals we will get Strijk & Lynch back for the 1st Semi.
On GF day (regardless who plays) SD,SF,Subi or WP with CL GF history, it is up in the air for mine !!!
