definately didnt help my ability to play the game but did help clear my head & make breathing easier..
sounds like you have just stated the performance enhancing benifets of sudafed mate......if you hadn’t of taken it, how well could you do all the different types of running/decision making involved in footy, if you couldn’t breathe easily or think clearly?.....yeah it may not of improved your handballing, kicking, marking skills etc......but how well can you run, twist, turn, make split second decisions if your head is all congested, eyes running, nose blocked etc.....sounds like the sudafed helped raise your performance levels when your body was feeling crap.
It’s a grey area all this anyway......take basic analgesia(panadol or nurofen) for instance......you have an intense migraine, causing you problems in concentrating, photophobia, nausea etc.....how well could you play a game of footy?.....not too well......you pop a few panandol and nurofen......migraine clears, all the above symptoms clear......your chances of performing better are greater......does that mean in this circumstance the panadol/nurofen are performance enhancing?
How many times do we hear of a cricketer getting a steroid injection pre or mid test match enabling them to play out the full 5 days.....could they have done it without the use of cortisone?.....isn’t this an example of a performance enhancing drug?....
Yeah it may not make ones skills actually better, but it does enable one to perform these skills better when ones body is obviously not 100%........eg: clearing your head when it’s congested or unblocking your nose......no doubt the SD player involved wasn’t feeling a 100% before a GF, didn’t want to miss out, took a simple over the counter medication to make him fell better......no biggie really....but how well could he have played out the game if he hadn’t of taken it?.....performance enhancing or not?....very grey area indeed!
