Back in early June I told you Cockburn will be the one to watch .. Recruited well and yesterday against Noranda they only had 18 of the regular league playing on the with 4 players from ressies offering their services to sit on the bench. Still had 6 players who were away on leave and nighshift so will be very interesting come finals.. Still I agree they find it hard to beat Kwinana. I see Kwinana as the favourite at this stage but dont be surprised if Cockburn do beat them.

How true is that jandakot took it up to noranda big time for first half of game /and the third quarter untill the umpires thought jandakot were going to roll them, jandakot no penaltys in front of goal/Noranda 5 wich resulted in 4goals 1 point <who favours who>Cockburn Have stacked there ressies early ,and now all of a sudden new players popup, and i thought there was a cut off for new players ,i bet that they put names on team sheet to qualify players for finals that where suppost to be away or working,by rights these players have not qualifyed for finals ,but who is going to know the only way you know is the new faces of football.i understand cockburn ressie got beat by yanchep on sun.so whats going on there??????????????????????????.Kwinana team to beat

Sounds like something Jandakot would do to try and win and qualify for finals cockburn must have learnt from there neighbours.
You cant really blame the umpires just because your team didnt win very weak excuse.
From what i heard is that Yanchep leaugue players had to double up and help out the reserves this week could explain the unusual result.
Kwinana are looking to be the favourites for both league and reserves now but anything can happen and i think there are a few teams that are a chance for the flag this year which will make a exciting finals campaign.

Jandoakot are notorious for whinging about everything.

They’re an undisciplined team. I wasnt at the game but them giving away 5 50 meter penalties is hardly post worthy- at the end of the day the umpires have to pay them if they’re there. I’m sure the guys werent getting penalised for just standing on the mark with their arms up in the air.

I think they’ve made compaints about every team in the comp, and they complain about umpires every time they lose. Its Sunday football league lads- get over yourselves and just worry about your own backyward for once.

You’re kidding arn’t you?

Who have Jandakot complained about?  I think you’ll find in reality it is quite the opposite.

King Carey - not true at all.  We have had to have some players fill in at times like anyone else; but the core of the Reserves side has been pretty much unchanged all year.  Against Kwinana two weeks ago we had 2 League players play twice, but have some Colts available now that their season has finished.

I’m not sure who the bloke is above - but I didn’t think the umpires did a bad job on the weekend.  One decision which was a stinker and seriously wrong ("putting yourself in a dangerous situation”, never heard of that one before) - guy ducked into a tackle, bounced off and kept running, cost a goal, then 4 more in 5 minutes when Noranda were on the ropes.  It was disappointing that a few of our blokes and supporters lost the plot because of it, to the extent that Noranda did what they wanted for a few minutes; but in reality; can’t do anything about it and you move on.

The standard in the MFA this season is pretty high and whilst Jandakot would be the underdog’s out of the top 4 - probably through lack of depth more than anything else; in reality anyone could win it. I think the seasons results show that.

Really looking forward to watching the footy in the Finals; whether the Jets make it past week one or not.  It has been a super competitive season thus far.

My tips (not playing favorites):
League: Kwinana (haven’t conceeded 100 pts in a game this season)
Reserves: Cockburn (pretty well drilled and alot of experienced players)

I think you’re right Dickyboy. A very close and competitive season, with anyway in the top 4 cabable of winning. Makes it a great finals series. I am still picking Kwinana in league and Cockburn should take out the Reserves. Cockburn seem to have a lot of ‘old’ players back playing and by that I mean not necessarily age but by old past players

Yes DMOS you must be blind or dumb and deaf the umpireing standards in the MFA are very poor ,and yes it is sunday League and the sooner they get rid of it the better,,, then all of these teams can go and play Saturday League in a much stronger competion with more teams and the umpireing standards are a little better, why have a div 1 and a div 2 combine all together for a stronger comp, and as for Jandakot whinging i have only herd of one complaint this year and i think it was from last weeks game against Kwinanna.one thing i can say is Jandakot are a very competive club and will be for many years to come,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and you are right at times that was all they had to do was put there arms above head high and was penalised ,and dickaboy pull ya head in the umpireing in the last half of your game was very bad First Half great football to watch.

Not sure who you are - but if you have been around football for a while you’d know that complaining about the standard of umpiring and blaming it for this or that is a recipe for disaster.  Never achieved anything positive and never meant an overturned decision or result yet.

Sure we were on the end of some bad decisions; but that’s life.  It isn’t going to win us the game next week and there is nothing you can do about it after the decision has been made.

I noticed the standard of umpiring drop as the critisicm targeted at them increase…

We move on to this week and look forward to a tight contest.

DB.

not sure what saturday grade your watching but im sure club umpires in d grade and below are not of the standard of what the MFA gets, there is generally no blatantly obvious deliberate mistakes in the MFA, i think you’ll find the amatuer umpiring is of a less standard.

Also think you’ll find this competition exists for players who can’t or don’t want to play on a saturday for many reasons.

Clearly someone needs to pull there head in and its not dicky

first week of finals are over and both Jandakot teams have been elimanted.

great game to watch was the Cockburn vs jandakot league game very close all day and could have gone to anyone. Cockburn now play the loser of kwiny and noranda which will be a great game this weekend.

noranda also won the reserves and now play in the prelim.
