Gee he lasted a little bit longer than Crudd and possibly the Labor government!
12 years wasnt it...Also left the country $50 billion in the black.

and Screemar you are spot on e.g

Mr Howard’s tough stance against the Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and past criticism of Sri Lankan bowler Muttiah Muralidaran were believed to be key factors in the ICC’s decision.

So the Dictator and the biggest crooks in the ICC have made their decision.
Amazing.

Your stupidity and intelligence is showing through by you comments Jack but then again I am not surprised gulp

But then again the great socialist CRUDD has done alright for himself for his brief visit.
No income test on him and his wife either. Not bad for a guy and his party after leaving the country $280 billion in debt

DEPOSED prime minister Kevin Rudd will receive allowances of about $600,000 a year for the rest of his life when he leaves politics.

As prime minister for more than a year he is entitled to superannuation, a gold air pass, a car, at least four personal staff and his own office in Brisbane for life.

If Mr Rudd lives to be 85, that would cost about $20 million, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Mr Rudd can expect to leave Parliament with a pension of between $118,346 and $145,987 a year, indexed for inflation.

Then there is the airline gold pass, worth about $60,000 a year, office space costing up to $120,000, four office staff costing about $262,000 and a car leased for around $18,000 a year.

I guess for those with the political nous of a hermit crab, and attention span of a gnat, Howard was a “great” man.

Howard governed during the greatest period of prosperity in Australia’s history - very little of it attributable to him, but much to do with the expansion of China.

And what did he do with this huge dividend? Took middle class welfare to new heights, and totally disregarded long overdue infrastructure upgrades. What vision!

To have left with only $60bn in the bank is further evidence of his, and his government’s fiscal ineptitude. And that’s without getting into other areas where he trampled on the rights of Australians, and of refugees, and how he shares the blame for the deaths of of hundreds of thousands in Iraq.

As far as Rudd is concerned, he is getting no more and no less than any other ex-PM; ie exactly what he is entitled to.

howard deserves a pension because he had twelve years at the helm and left the country in excellent shape, your mate dudd had three years and rooted it all up and he has blood on his hands like the boat people who have drowned on there way to australia and putting kids behind barbed wire fences, yea thats great management isnt it. at least howard put a stop to that. the cricket council is like the united nations, all full of shit and designed for third world countries to feel important.

Picture of RUDD leaving the lodge… The question was why does he look so happy>
Answer - $600,000 a year for life..

Doesn’t seem right does it for attempting to destroy this country (carry on Julia we might be able to get rid of you as well)

I suppose in hindsight it is worth that much to get rid of the Sniveling piece of shit

Maybe we could look at similar entitlements to families of Australia Soldiers who are killed in the line of duty surely that is warranted as they did give their life for their country?

It makes you sick

I wonder if those who voted labour in last election would fair that well at that IQ test Jack............
Seriously Howard did a sensational job and was only outed because of the old chestnut. “you are doing to well and it is time for a change just for the heck of it” Line.

60 Billion and climbing later????????? Its ok the libs will fix it up again in the next few years.

The ENTITLEMENTS of FAMILIES for those KILLED ON ACTIVE DUTY or otherwise and those on ACTIVE DUTY should GO THROUGH the ROOF and I couldn’t care less if that happened after we Brought them Home in light of recent developments in AFGHANISTAN.

I’m not talking about the CASUALTIES but recent reports that suggest AID money is being SHIPPED OFF under the noses of the ALLIES(most likely to persue HEROIN and ARMS and it’s not necessarily the Taliban and Al Queda)that begs the question -

WHY DO WE BOTHER?

When that’s happening.Almost don’t matter if you got rid of the TALIBAN and AL QUEDA.Because in the hands of the WAR LORDS,AFGHANISTAN is NO BETTER OFF.But the problem there is,WHY WON’T THE YANKS WIPE THE FLOOR with them?Because **** MILTARY POLICY DICTATES to Any PRESIDENT that the CRIMINALLY INSANE WAR LORDS are needed there.

**** ME,Talk about a DOG chasing it’s TAIL.GILLARD should DEMAND to BARACK he changes that policy or IGNORES INSANE POLICY that ensures an UNENDING VICIOUS CIRCLE.

Or WE’RE OUTTA THERE.Like this Year!

Now do WHINGEING SODS over here with NO CLUE Understand why Young AFGHAN men say **** THIS for a Joke to seek a Better life elsewhere?

AFGHANISTAN have been INVADED for YEARS and for WHAT RESULT?COMPLETE STUFF ALL!THE POMS couldn’t conquer it,the RUSSIANS Tried, the YANKS made it WORSE before 2001 and to me,the SUBSEQUENT MESS is almost ENTIRELY THEIR DOING!

NEO CONS in the main, but BARACK should find a Timeline to say ENOUGH is ENOUGH and DICTATE to the MILITARY,NOT the other way around if he Truly wants to SECURE AFGANISTAN as a TRUE and FREE NATION.

Those MILTARY(Including PENTAGON,CIA and other INSIDIOUS Bodies in the BUSINESS of WAR - That’s Sick) BASTARDS most likely KNOW where the TALIBAN and AL QUEDA are,but prefer to keep them alive as well as the CRIMINAL WARLORDS to keep the TERRORIST BOGEY going to the AMERICAN people and THE FREE WORLD(Ugh),rather than just WIPING THE FLOOR with those BASTARDS.

That’s why our GUYS and GIRLS deserve TRIPLE PAY.And to come home SOON or NOW,because of this COMPLETE WASTE of time their SUPERB, HONEST EFFORTS are being SERIOUSLY UNDERMINED.Wouldn’t be the 1st time in History their EFFORTS have been so Under-appreciated. vampire

Getting back to the topic at hand .... “What goes around comes around” Can’t believe the support from Malcolm Speed and Warny...Hope the six countries do not weaken to his pitiful little protests. Abide by the umpires decision and move on you little weed…

Balla, you are perfectly correct.

But digressing for a moment - a question. Are the three arms of the Australian Armed Services still voluntary, or has conscription been reintroduced since I moved overseas?

If the answer to my first question is yes, what do those signing up to a job in the military expect? And what are they being paid for?

A digger is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank cheque
made payable to ‘AUSTRALIA’
For an amount of ‘up to and including their life

Fighting for your country when asked to, then in my opinion yes they should get every penny they deserve. When it is a career choice, surely ya know Army=war= a POSSIBILTY of death. Its a part of the choice, that YOU decide to make
