Is he kidding? Reckons he wants to stay, according to the paper today. More chance of Rob Wiley making a comeback

He deserves to stay. The problem at Perth is with the players, not with the coach.

In the last quarter today all Perth needed to do was play accountable footy and they would of won. But Perth time and time again didn’t man up in the last quarter and $$ubi kicked easy goals. That comes down to the players. Jarman can’t man up for them.

I’d re-sign him now. Perth won’t find a better coach and he can’t play the game for them.

To bring players you need (1) to fit them into the points sysyem, (2) to fit them into the salary cap and (3) guarantee them employment in the field that interests them.....it ain’t easy!
Number (3) these days is very important. This is where the coach/football manager/ceo need help from supporters.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. I’ve heard he left Adelaide a hated man.

I believe he told the players pre game to do something in regards to tactics, and for three quarters they did it and the result was there. It was when they werent following his game plan things came unstuck. The thing that irks me is, why didn’t he think of it before? He’s been here long enough.

He might be better off sticking with his media commitment. I sometimes wonder if that’s his primary goal and he only wants to be a coach to continue with this, he may not be wanted in the media if he wasn’t a current coach. It’s like Akermanis, he was told that he would be less likely to have all his media gigs if he was retired.

True, it is tough, but he did say he would do it.

Is it about time now to blood young kids and get rid of some of these players who have been in and out of the side for a couple of years.Spoke to couple of kids on weekend who are 19-20 who been there for a couple of years and were told by the reserves coach that they can train 4-5 days a week but cant guarantee them games but they keep playing these 26-27 year old who just make up numbers. These kids now thinking of leaving and playing local or country footy.

Staunch what about your mate Damian McMahon? Why the hell is Hayden Busher still playing colts? Now that Houghton is playing league surely Busher should at least be playing reserves by now? How is he developing by playing colts for 4 years? They dropped Brent Luttrell and apparently he’s retired, I reckon another one who should hang up the boots and make way is Clay McLernon. His lack of pace and skills is badly exposed every week. I am surprised by the improvement of Robinson the last few games. He seems to be growing some confidence. But the ones who have really impressed me this year is the young players like Elari, Hodge, Fiegert, Mather etc..... These young kids are the new midfield brigade but we need to keep Ross Young and the likes of Kade Lang and Scott Seikierka to go around a few more years to help these kids development.

The club also has to plan to lose Sullivan (probably delisted), Smith and Ruffles will start playing AFL soon and Mzungu I reckon will get drafted (hopefully with WC or Freo) and he’ll give the Sandover a big shake.

Maybe there has to be some issues as to his ability playing against men and the bigger bodies?
There has to be some logical reason as to why he hasnt been promoted, not mature, has a few chinks is his make up,who knows?

You would have to think that if the kid was unhappy at playing colts he would have pissed off to another club a fair while ago,as you point out it is his 4th year at colts level.
He must be accepting the reasons given to him remaining at colts level.

Then again you just never know, its difficult to work out the thought processes behind our club at times.

So if Brian is not the Messiah nor is Jars the bloody magician that he promised when he arrived.
I say that both of them should piss off and let us have leaders who walk the walk not just talk, talk, bloody talk.
Jars has nowhere else to go so he says he wants to stay. If Perth had finished well in the two years with him at the helm, he would have been looking for an AFL job but no success no guernsey so he says he will stay at Perth - lucky us!

I think the VIC PARK RAIDER boys had better get in the Old man’s ears and ask him on where young HAYDEN Stands. Then we might get to the Nub of the Problem.

As for JARS,I wouldn’t mind him staying.Provided we back him up with a Top up of the List we have.I know you’re not Rapt in him Ben,but if we got rid of him, then what?

We might have a SIMON McPHEE type somewhere, but even then you could have a good squad on your plate, but you’re still starting over getting used to a New Philosophy. And guess what? You start the season on the Backfoot getting used to it.The supporters are getting TIRED of that mate.

Take the easy option Grassy. Go and headhunt Billy Duckworth. Six consecutive premierships with North Beach. Will probably bring half the NB squad with him as ready made motivated League Footballers. Grand Final appearance within two years guaranteed. Plus side for the rest of us we get rid of the bloke and the rest of the teams are left with some chance of success in the A Grade Ammo competition.

Well Mr Wilson,I believe BILLY did show an interest in the WEST PERTH job,but didn’t get the gig.Whether BILLY MONAGHAN presented himself well or BILL didn’t,remains to be seen.

But for now,I think the only way an Interview process will start for a new coach is if JARS leaves of his own accord. If he wants to stay,I reckon the club may encourage him to do so.I guess he has to be confident we can Back him up Thoroughly.

The other thing everyone from Interstate has to consider(even in this Day and Age)is Family considerations.Call it the TYRANNY of DISTANCE if Nearest and Dearest get Homesick.SOUTH OZ ain’t that far from here, but to some from there,it may be Another World away.
