Got no issue with it, should never have wasted money on the referendum, we elect governments to make decisions and it is a shame they don’t more often suck it up and work together with the opposition rather than just disagreeing for the sake of it.
grassy,
I agree with your rant.
Why ask the people and then dictate the opposite when you do not like their answer?
On a personal note, I am glad to see WA dragged into the 21st century.
I just wish it was in a democratic way, this imposition against the will of the majority is a sad day for the democratic process.
I assume grassy’s latest rant is a reference to shoppers (ie the consumers) in Sleepy Hollow at last being given a real choice, and the shop owners and workers (ie the service providers) also being given a choice - whether or not to provide a service when it is required.
Welcome to the real world, Perth. Now only 3 or 4 years behind the rest of the world.
YES agree Grassy.... Adolf/Musso/Stalin/Mugabe/Ho Chi/Lenin have spoken..
Barnett has proven himself a liar already (His smug self righteous face is starting to worry me) Opposition leader has already proven himself a dickhead.. RIPPER..
Barnett got caught out with the Leanora lie where he told us he didnt speak to Federal government and they on the next day produced a letter where he suggested a few locations.... HE HAS LOST MY VOTE because I HATE LIARS… - But having said that mate I would have to vote informal every time which would achieve nothing..
So Daylight Saving must be back on the AGENDA next year - surely as it is quiet obvious what we want as voters in WA Means all to our government..
There you go Grassy a little rant of mine and mate the unfortunate thing is it doesnt matter how we rant and rave we will lose....

Yet our life style here is argueably the best in the world?, maybe we have it right.

What exactly by the way is the real world?
Yes, I notice how many Perth people who have barely stepped outside the metropolitan area often present this “argument”.
The real world is where you find people who have been lucky enough to experience some of the rest of the planet, and have come to the realisation of how conservative, smug and insular many of the good citizens of Perth can be.

Just as its simple to say “its about time we had it”, and welcome to the real world”
I say ya want the Real World then its just as simple ......... GO THERE. No one is forcing you to stay in this environment

Correct, and it wasn’t until I left (not for the ES) 8 years ago that I realised how conservative etc (see above) Perth really is.
Funny though, they always seem to stay
Incorrect - nice place to visit, wouldn’t particularly want to live there though.

Goodness we can actually go out until 9.00pm five nights a week night to shop. That is undemocratic. Fortunately you can still only buy whitegoods at Harvey Norman on Sundays. That would be way too much of a dilution of our rights if we could actually buy anything available for sale.
