Diesel - 19 July 2010 09:24 AM

Well spooner WP are now in the 4 & have Peel at home this week… do you still think they have drawn stumps & are planning for 2011? or maybe looking towards finals in 2010

Like I said Diesel, if that’s what the plans are, I didn’t say I agreed with it.
Lets hope they go out with the same endeavour this week and the week after and the week after that. How they gave us and themselves what they offered up against Souths last week and Peel earlier in the year just annoys me. This week they came to play from the first bounce to the final siren and it showed.
Still a long way to go before we can safely say 4th spot is a certainty. Have to keep winning and a few other results go our way. Sincerely hope they make it.

Games to play 2010

Bye
EP
SF - ANOTHER NIGHT GAME
CLA
PERTH

Looking good on 36 points with 4 to play
No game next week with SF v EF being the interesting one.
SF win will dislodge us from 3rd on percentage. We would drop to 4th and Subi 5th on equal points.

To early to say the F word and great for the WAFL…
I suggest we need 3 out of the 4 to be there in the end...2/4 is a possibility depending on other results.

As they say a week at a time for all clubs concerned..

Current ladder below

That loss to Peel earlier in the year will cost us finals. How the **** did they beat us.

Now lets do some maths after EP win and round 19 results (thanks EF)
Find below the latest ladder after Round 19

Working on 44 points to be in the top 4 and 48 to be certain

EP can only get to 44 points if they win their last 3 games
EP - Playing WP/SUBI/CLA - to scrape in and cant see it...If they do they will be Premiership favourites

Predictions!  Only thing that makes me breath a bit easier is 3 teams have byes in the remaining rounds being EP/STHS and EF...a little bit of breathing space for WP and Subi who have 4 Games.
To reach 44 points they both would have to win 2 out of 4..If they win 3/4 they will be set on 48.

EF are a game up as well (points) with a bye to come(a little bit of insurance) over EP and SF..
EF are fortunate they have Peel in their last 3 games so guaranteed win which takes them to 40 points before they start… (the other 2 teams who meet Peel are Perth and SD who pretty well are set in concrete)

Our finals chances are good and where to from there no one knows
Lynch/Bradley and Strijk are eligible to play for us in the finals. Jay is 2 games short.

WP must win 2 or 3 out of next 4 to achieve 44 points or 48 points.
A win against EP next week will help and will put EP out of the Running.

My top 4 (tongue in cheek and taking the above into account would be)
But dont put money on it rolleyes

CLA
Swans
Subi ---because they have 4 games to play
WP ----ditto possible 3 place on ladder to get a Home final if win more than Subi or higher percentage

EF still have a outside chance if they win the 3 games as that would take them to 48 points.
EP have no hope - very slim chance depending on other results but wont happen
SF Same as EP as have to win all games to get 44 points and gain percentage.

If we win this week I think we will make it. This weekend against EP is the game of the season we have to win it.

Find below the AFL eligible players up to this date.
Thought this would be of interest as in the end it could make a big difference.

Taken from the Footy Budget - Thanks Tracey Lewis page 4

http://www.mediatonic.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/2010-Round-19.pdf

IF last year’s grand fi nalists Subiaco can maintain their position in the top four, they could go into this year’s fi nal series without any AFL-listed players.
Senior AFL-listed players need to have played a total of five games for their WAFL club (any combination of league, reserves, reserves games for another club or be listed as an AFL emergency and held out of a WAFL game) to be eligible to play in the finals With four games left in their home-and-away season, both Des Headland and Greg Broughton would need to play all of those games to qualify. However, while Fremantle are still alive in the AFL finals series, the eligibility criteria is waved, allowing them to represent the Lions as long as the Dockers are still playing finals football.
The high-flying Claremont side already has eight players qualified,
while four Swan Districts players and three West Perth players are in the same position.

Totally agree.

WP has it’s destiny in it’s own hands. A position we have had before and blown it when it counted.
So.... I put the challenge out. DO THIS FOR YOURSELVES, THE CLUB, THE SUPPORTERS, THE SPONSORS AND THE RESPECT OF THE COMP. GO OUT THERE AND PLAY LIKE MEN POSSESED.
GET THE MONKEY OFF THE BACK - NO EXCUSES ie GAMES AFTER BYE, INJURIES, AFL PLAYERS.
DO YOURSELVES AND THE CLUB PROUD.

Nice win v SF has kept us on track. Not there yet but another win out of our next 2 should see us in the Final 4…

We have jumped to 3rd spot on 40 points (Ladder below)..
Still some Ducks and Drakes to come.
I think EF will be definately in the 4 with the game against Peel to come.
A win against Subi will seal their spot and make it hard for Subi on 36 a game behind with games to EF and SF...(very possible though if they win both) Today will tell. If they defeat EF well in the running.

WP/SUBI and EP are the only 3 left to fight out the other spot in final 4

WP have CLA and Perth to play. Both games are winnable but one will do.
Could come down to our last game v Perth. We certainly have got our moneys worth this season what ever the result.

EP on 36 have to beat Subi and Cla and cant see them doing it.. Possible but a outside chance.
WP and Subi would both have to fall in a hole as well and not win a game.
Should be very interesting the EP v Subi game next week…

Bottom line the spot for 4th/3rd spot between Subi and WP...IMO
Would be nice to see EF get over the line today..

It certainly is an interesting finish to the season in the WAFL…

-------------------------

WP ressies

Will be heading down to Freo today to watch this and looking for an important win.

WP on 46 percentage 107.91 and SF fighting to get back in the 4 on 44 and a PERCENTAGE of 114.04

SF have a bye next week so if WP lose they are still in it. So we have the same situation as the League table with Perth still in the Mix and a game against Peel which they should win..which will take them to 44....Both WP and Perth could be playing off for a spot in the Last game of the season.

To close to call but a win to our boys today will see them goto 50 points which should be enough.
EF and EP Ressies are not out of the woods either on on 48 with EF having a bye comming up and EP having a bye this weekend..

I find it incredible that both the League and Ressies comps are both going down to the wire.

So if your got nothing to do today get down to Frem oval and support our team today.
The league team will be there to watch so if you couldnt make it on Friday night come down and have a chat with them.

ALL THE BEST TO PAUL SANZONE AND THE MIGHTY CARDY RESERVES

Bit of a pain in the arse next week as they will be playing at Joondalup and the League at SD so wont be able to get that game in v the top of the Ressies ladder CLA..
Of course they have structured the games so if you like you can go from Basso to Joondalup but I think it defeats the purpose of the Double header if you do that and also there is the driving involved etc.

Programme v CLA

Please note the set up for the day, concerning the League, Reserves and Colts game times and locations:
LEAGUE: 11:15AM @ STEEL BLUE OVAL
COLTS: 1PM @ ARENA JOONDALUP
RESERVES: 3:30PM @ ARENA JOONDALUP
SENIOR SQUAD PRESENTATIONS: 5:30PM @ ARENA JOONDALUP
SPONSORS FUNCTION:
A stand up cocktail function in the Sponsors Lounge at Steel Blue Oval from 10am - 11:15am. Guests can then watch the game from the lounge from 11:15am onwards. A cash bar will be run from the start of the game and finger food will be served before the game and at half time. Sponsors and guests will be required to vacate the room at the conclusion of the West Perth game to allow for Swan Districts sponsors and guests to move in.

P.S PARRA had a good win last night keeping their finals hopes alive if your interested
Nah didnt think so

I really dont know about this double header I mean I enjoy watching the last half of the colts all of the ressies and then the league. Having to go from Bassendean to Joondalup to do so is just not practical and I feel sorry for the ressies blokes I mean they dont get to play in front of anyone until around half way through the last term when people arrive, there will be nobody at Joondy to watch them!

Well done Falcons for last night! didnt see that one coming huge turn around from the belting you received down there a few weeks back.

Makes it interesting alright. Will be keeping an eye on the subi/sharks game although I guess it doesnt matter who wins really. You blokes should be red hot next week and have one hell of a dip on a ground which we never play well at, interesting times indeed!

Know what you mean Tiger10… No one was at Freo today for the Colts and Reserves SF v WP.. About 10 supporters and the volunteer staff made up the “crowd” on a magnificent day for a game of Footy.
