No matter what happens between now and the end of the season Perth would be crazy not to offer Andrew Jarman a contract extension.

I’m not saying you should get carried away with a victory over a basket case team (who still managed to beat West Perth recently I hasten to add!) but there’s no point in getting a decorated football person like Jarman in as coach and then letting him go after 2 years. The bloke should be given more time especially seeing as though he hardly took over a star-studded squad in the first place.

Jars knows how to play football the right way. He was one of the most skilled SANFL players ever and his career with North Adelaide, Norwood and the Adelaide Crows bears testament to this.

You guys are on the right track so don’t change horses in midstream.

As an impartial observer that would love to see a strong perth footy club I totally agree. The coach is not the problem- he quite simply doesn’t have the cattle. It shouldn’t be a forgone conclusion that Jarman will be gone next season. I would send a strong message and sign him for a couple more years.

Toddy won 3 in a row at swans but it should be remembered that he was there for many years before that where swans were flogged regularly. I know Perth fans are restless but sometimes things take time.

Interesting post goodie and cheers for the interest in Perth from yourself and FalconForce.

I just browsed through Swan Districts results during Todd’s early years as coach - thanks to http://www.waflonline.com.au

In 1977 3 wins, 9 60+ losses.

In 1978, 4 wins, 8 60+ losses.

In 1979, 11 wins including last 5, only 1 60+ loss.

And then 2nd in 1980 with of course a few premierships soon after!

Maybe Perth could have a hat-trick starting in 5 years!  red face

We do have the Nucleus of the Cattled. But the boys still need a Top up of class to assist them. Not a whole shopfull, but a couple of Key position players to assist our rise up the ladder.

Still boils down to How we USE THE BALL though.

You’ve presented the facts well. Sometimes you have to grit your teeth and go through some initial pain to get the results in the end.

I was actually amazed that Perth were able to recruit someone of Andrew Jarman’s calibre to be league coach. If I was on your board I’d certainly be advocating that he be signed on to a new contract.

If Jars is given time to assemble a quality list, success will come.

I agree Falconforce.
The other thing to take into consideration is,what are the alternatives??Not a whole lot out there.

You get a good signing in Jarman its now up to the club to back it up and make sure he has at his disposal funds to recruit,if they dont they will just be wasting another good opportunity and good appointment and it would be another good coach made to look ordinary by the PFC!
Give him the cattle!!!!!

West Perth have gone backwards under Monaghan and just a reminder for you falcondipstick, you are not playing next week just like the PFC.

S & S after having 33 goals kicked against you by a bottom 4 team on your dung heap i think Matthew Knights would be better suited at Souths considering Dimmer couldnt motivate his players to lift for a club Captain playing his 200th game, disgraceful!
