Let’s get this over with.
He’s there,not at PERTH.
Let’s move on.
MAx,I’m sorry things didn’t work out at LATHLAIN PARK.Both sides had their Versions of what went on and NEVER THE TWAIN SHALL MEET.
The people you need to show now is Your Current Club 1st that you can play to the Team’s Rules and if you do that, you’ll probably help them win a flag.We already knew you could play, but you do that and good luck to yer.
Because the other people you’ll show are the Talent scouts, many of whom just look for talent, many others look for far more than that. You take care of the WE aspect and the Door will open in more ways than you can imagine.
Good luck to you,Son.

pity Duffy won’t be playing in the Perth v EF colts game in a couple weeks.....this coincides with the first state u/18 game I think.........
Grassy, Duffy is a very good player for only 16.......yes a tad immature at times perhaps....but weren’t we all at that age.....with a wise word or two in his ear, this kid will go far......AFL far?....who knows?

Heard a rumour that Max Duffy didn’t play colts this week because his old man would n’t let him. Seems as though it is happening again, which club will he go to now. Probably Wesley/Curtin…

yeah hear what you are saying Bundy......but considering 4 other regular colts boys were ‘missing’ on Sat, no doubt their dads pulled their pins as well!!.......I call it resting and rotating players before the finals mate.......young Dale Wallam from Geraldton got a debut colts and showed his potential.....I guess Wallam should thank Duffy’s dad for getting his game on Sat!........

freeze that’s good to hear, I was hoping there was nothing sinister in it as I have met Max on quite a few occassions and believe him to be a good kid. Always best to put rimours on here at least they get cleared that way without any extra crap being said.

They must have had an interesting week there then, Colbung was given a game after he threatened to go to East Perth mid week.

Go to EP? Doesn’t he need a clearance? Don’t clearances close on 30 June each year?

From what I was told because he had only played 16’s and not colts for East Fremantle he was free to go next year.

My understanding is that if you have played 16’s, live in a WAFL zone and are under 19 then you need a clearance.

considering EF colts team is top of the table, lost only one game, I don’t envy Malaxos’s job of trying to keep a range of current players and prospective players happy. About 6 youngsters have played some reserves footy, whilst a variety of younger guys have had a taste of colts footy in preparation for 2011.
I can’t believe Malaxos would be rail roaded into being forced to play any youngster......the fella has been around and some more, if Colbung wishes to persue his career else, then good luck to the kid.
One fella I’ll be keen to see down at EF next year is a young fella who made the All Australian schoolboys side this year, by the name of Jack Martin. The kid plays league for Towns in the GNFL and has kicked a few bags of 5 plus goals......and is only 15! The GNFL is no mugs comp, so I’ll be interested to see what happens......there are quite a few promising types from Geraldton already at the club in the colts......Boyle, Curley, Tropiano, Anthony, Schofield etc......

I thought father son selections can wait to choose if they play for their Dads team or their zone team when they play colts. That means they don’t have to make a final decision on where they play until they are old enough.
I know it was definitely like that a couple of years ago, my cousins kid played for one team until colts when he shifted to his Dads team without a problem or clearance.

If Michael Culbong qualifies under father- son then you are absolutely correct so long as he doesn’t play Colts, Reserves or League. However if he has played Colts for EF then he will require a clearance....which I believe he did on Saturday. If he is the son of the former East Perth rover and has his dad’s ability then he certainly has potential. Is he related to the former State U/18’s player Shawn Colbung?

Malaxos doesn’t play favourites at all.
Marcus Cronan, son of Reserves coach Phil, went to Souths to play Colts becuase he couldn’t get a guaranteed game.
And sad as it is to lose him, thats as it should be.
