Rumours abound that a number of players are not happy, not happy with the nepotism perceived at the club, hope this is not the case with new coaches at League and Ressies, word is that a number may walk early in the season and the ressies are already in slim pickings to field a team. It would be a shame if this is the case as I believe Subi was a very professional club and need to hold on to their second tier players and provide them with opportunities and guidance. Did notice that during the two pre season games unlike other WAFL teams only provided limited opportunities to a few that have trained thru the pre season and played their paid recruits in the matches after turning up after the new year, this may have something to do with it. Hope this is not a return of 60’s and early 70’s but cash will tell. Go Subi tomorrow hoping for a good game unlike last weekend when the Subi league seemed to play the Chunder ressies, was this a ploy by the Chunder for bad grapes on their previous coach or were they giving their juniors a go. Many issues here but just seems to be the numbers are down at Subi.
hi whale hope you’re wrong. from what i have seen there aren’t too many 2nd tier players to lose. bensti did a breakdown on subi’s list for 2010 and there are a number of 100+ games, heaps of 0-20 gamers+ but not much in between.
it seems the recruiting this year though small in number is not very good. no one really speaks highly of campbell, the qlders seem to be middle of the road and only hassett offers any promise.

Agree rpt, not many showed too much interest on Saturday, but add Newick, Rix, Read, Cockie & Martin in plus new recruit Hassett who looks the goods and that should make a difference...I hope.
I did hear from one of the trainers that Fletch has decided to not to suit up this year which is a disappointment.
I also heard this morning from one of the senior playing group there’s some doubt over Read due to his foot still not being great...could be a long hard season ahead.

$$ubi have been poaching from other clubs a lot over the last 5 years and this has meant $$ubi reserves players barely get a look in. Now it is coming back to bite you.

Of course R/r if that was to be the case this season I am sure that all non-Subiaco WAFL supporters would feel and empathise with your pain.
No point Goodie, swans have already poached...I mean recruited most of the good ones.
With so many good recruits added to an already quality list surely fear of failure and the resulting embarressment will drive the ducks onto a long awaited flag.
Ouch. The finals are becoming less and less likely with each day. Shocking “performance” on Saturday, very West Coast-like hospital disposals; both East Perth and East Fremantle have left us biting the dust with their far superior speed and zoning ability. Said injuries to key players like Newick and Read, if they linger during the season, will wipe out any hope of September football.
I’ve also heard whispers of long-term unrest between the colts and the senior sides structurally, certainly not what you need in a rebuilding phase.
2010 will be a real “grinding” season for Subi, supporters included.
Just read in the local rag the West that all three teams beaten badly, maybe WHALE Blubber in his post might be onto something in that all is not happy at the camp, did anybody see the games and how did the new recruits from the east play believe one was dropped to the ressies, high price to play a player from the east to play ressies and tell your youth you are not good enough, lets hope the youths from the development sides of years gone by are encouraged to stick it out hell and high water.
OH well all good things must come to a end . IT seems to happen in life ,things get to big and they just seem to implode. MUST say i will enjoy watching the boys in the pig pen cheering the Ds AS THeY COME up the race after a good win at EFTEL. . OH by the way we are always happy to accommodate disgruntled quality key position players . like MARK WEBB. funny how things turn isnt it .

While I have my doubts as to how Subi can cover their player losses, it is mistake to count out Subi ever.
