How many other sporting events is this state going to loose?  Okay, I’m not a fan but we’ve lost the Golf, the tennis (hopman cup will go), the super 15 will go to Melbourne, the Rally and now the cars.
Why bother to support sports at all.  Our last WA champion were the Eagles in 2006.  Okay, not counting the heat and womens hockey.  Rather loose our shit cricket team than the cars.

What was COLIN BARNETT’s EXACT quote about his Reticence to support the SUPERCARS?Something about this being a Minority Cause? Gee Col,ever Stop and think the HOWARD BATTLERS might Cross the Floor at the State Ballot Box over a CHEAP SHOT like that? smirk

He might be part of the problem. But even if the finger can be pointed at someone like TONY COCHRANE,who is accused of being nothing more than a GREEDY SOD,could it just be,that the Facilities are a JOKE?3rd World?Something about the Pits being too close to the crowd?

Are the body that’s the WA Sports Car Club a BIG Part of the problem?

Geez lozing the Hopman cup!. Probably NOT, only reason being its a mickey mouse comp, that really no-one else (cept us) gives a rats toss bag about it! People over east laff about it ( and the players are here for a bit of practice, along with a nice holiday)

Not sure assumptions about us losing the tennis and rugby support your argument, seeing as there is no indication they are going anywhere.

Barbagallo has been going down hill for a long time, not something you can pin on the current government solely. Even if they threw 200 million at it today, nothing was ever going to be done/finished anytime soon which still would have meant us losing the race for a few years at least.

We may lose the HOPMAN Cup if the ABC Drop their Broadcast of it.

If they do,there’s a FAIR Chance,it’ll head EAST if a Good offer is put on the Table,on the Condition of course,it heads EAST.Unless STOKES buys it and keeps it here.

Actualy,I’m a little worried about MARK SCOTT’S Attitude in justifying ABC Telecast of Sprts.Did I hear right about his ATTITUDE about continued coverage of Minority sports or was I just hearing things?Or Maybe Col twice? ohh

I am niether a Hopman cup fan or a V8 supercar fan. At least the V8 supercars hold some importance in the sport. Does anyone out there really take the Hopman Cup seriously??

IF (and thats a big IF) the east wanted te hopman cup, they would have/will take it/have it.

To be Honest Unka,I’ve always said, they’re GLORIFIED SCRATCH MATCHES.

However, apart from the HOPMAN CUP,what else is there in WA Tennis? The WA OPEN?YEAH!No disrespect to the folk who can Play a decent game here, but I don’t think you see too many others from Interstate or Overseas Grabbing a Plane in great numbers to get here.

That’s probably why the HOPMAN CUP is supported by the TENNIS LOVER here.Cause, there ain’t much else(TENNIS Wise and other stuff) to see here in WA.

There’s a bit more for the REV HEADS in Varied Forms, but I suspect WA Is the POOR RELATION in V8 Circles.Sounds familiar here,in many a sport.
