How the hell did he think he was going to get away with his biting/chewing of the ball yesterday?

I think Mark Nicholas said there are something like 26 cameras on the go at once, AND he was captain yesterday so most likely would have been one on him at all times.

His excuse was even worse, something along the lines of ‘Everyone does it’

One of the best ODI and T20 cricketers going around, doesn’t need to resort to that rubbish.

Remind me of Imran going on telly and SHOWING how he used to tamper the ball with a bottle top in the 80s, then backtracking and saying everyone did it and getting Ian Botham and Richard Hadlee involved…

Surely his mum has told him not to put things in his mouth.

His comments in the paper today that he was “trying to clean it because the ball smelt funny” was the best joke i have heard all week.

My dogs shit smells funny, i usually clean it up with a shovel but maybe i should get Afridi around to lick that up off my lawn.

At least he ended up pleading guilty and copping his ban. If it had of been some other touring touring nations they would have pleaded their innocence all the way down the line, taken umbrage and offence that they were even accused and then proceed to threat to fly home immediately unless a full and frank apology is given in about 3 seconds flat. wink

You’re right about that...the old ‘racism’ chestnut would have been rolled out.
I must say though, after watching tonight’s news, I wonder whether he was sorry for the incident or sorry he was caught.  It’s a pity, such a brilliant cricketer having to wear this stain for the rest of his career.

He is a recidivist.

No sympathy at all - I reckon he got off lightly.

I agree he got off very lightly, similar penalty to what Sulimen Benn received from that ‘incident’ with Haddin.

I wonder if Afridi’s omission will have an impact on the crowd for the T20 on Friday, with the way they have performed this summer, he may have been the one guy to give them a chance.

You mean he is trying to catch up to the number of times that Ponting has been fined?

No, I don’t.

Back to your classroom.

I’ll go Back to Class as Well.Though Ricky’s been a Good Boy these days(Read -in recent weeks)hasn’t he?

Shahid is an ECCENTRIC who has been accused of “Leaving his Brain at the Gate"”.He clearly doesn’t think at times and if he’s Serious about the PAKISTAN CAPTAINCY in future,he’s got some Serious CLASS and HOMEWORK to do.

And Yes,he did get off Lightly. He might love 20/20,but I get the feeling he’s not Crying about Missing the next 2.Unless it runs into the WORLD 20/20 Championships. Is that this year?
