I don’t agree with one aspect of his Work in places like AFRICA.I don’t mind having these kids coming over and playing AUSSIE Rules,but to have their Competitions Equate with LONG ESTABLISHED Competitions like our’s and the SANFL in relation to Drafting is just Plain WRONG.

They should at least serve an Apprenticeship through our Comps 1st to Guage whether they can Cut the Mustard and if they come through that,good luck to ‘em.But to get DIRECTLY Drafted from Overseas ahead of the kids here,SORRY!Shouldn’t be happening!The competitions overseas are only in their Orphanage in terms of experience and Standards and should serve an Apprenticeship before you DIRECTLY Draft Kids from there.

By the way WTF,his relationship with the ABORIGINAL Race is pretty much 2nd to none in the Football Industry.Just ask MICHAEL LONG!MAL BROWN and SOUTH personelle were Pioneers,but SHEEDS went a whole lot further.Yes,he did STUFF UP in Not telling DEREK KICKETT he was Out,but I don’t think you can Link that with anything else.

As i have said there are plenty of blokes and kids who have played this game all their lives and some have had dreams to play at the highest level. For some reason these blokes got over look and that is not saying they where no good. There are different reasons why this does and still happens.  There has to be players running around in the VFL, SANFL, and the WAFL that should be rookie drafted instead of some kid from overseas who has never played the game. Sheedy has always loved an audience, jacket waving, marshmellow game, throat cutting gestures so from this aspect i can see why he was appointed. Was he approach by the AFL to coach the new team in Sydney before leaving the Bombers.
Grassy who replaced Kickett in that premiership team and did they make most it. How is his relationship with Hird going. At one stage it looked as good as when Malthouse was coaching the chemist.

You tell me who replaced DEREK?Sounds to me,you’re STILL DIRTY about it.

And Don’t say TIM WATSON.He was in the Preliminary Final Side and Contributed a whole lot more than just the Winning Goal.

Very STALE water under the Bridge Mate.We won the FLAG in ‘93.Probably should have done more between then and 2000.If DEREK had stayed and Contributed from ‘94 we may well have done better.But unlike DAVID FLOOD who was one of our Better players against the Crows,stayed at the Club and won Universal Respect at WINDY HILL for getting over his Huge Disappointment,DEREK got the RAGS and was Off!

SHEEDS didn’t want to leave ESSENDON when his Contract wasn’t renewed.Had the Offer been around,he may well have made the decision himself to leave then.His relationship with HIRDY?Dunno,they’re pretty good mates,last I heard.

Yeah Swan,Gerard Neesham’s done a great job and maybe will take the Mantle from SHEEDS in the Future.

Just BUGS me CLAREMONT have most of those kids,if not all.You certainy wouldn’t find them in DALKEITH!

Sheedy was the quintessential self-made player. Not blessed with great skills, he was able to carve out a brilliant career with dedication, perseverance and thoughtfulness.

Sheedy would like to play college soccer, and a few small colleges are showing interest in him. In the spring he will play for Fox Chapel’s rugby team. Rugby is a club sport at Fox Chapel.
