Checked out the fixtures quickly, play Subi 3 times again as we always seem to do lately.
Also noticed that we play them twice away - AGAIN!!!
Had a look over the past few years . . . . what do you know, quite common.

2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 played Subi 3 times each year and each time played them twice away.

How in the frig can that happen in an “even” comp??

This is crap! Surely SF would put in some sort of complaint re this…..? Mind you we seem to have a better record v Subi @ Medibank than at home….

All clubs are given the opportunity to put in requests for the following season’s fixtures and once the draft fixtures are released they can make suggestions for any amendments.  I don’t think the fixturing has done South Fremantle any harm in recent years. After all you play East Fremantle 3 times each season and given East’s overall performance over the last seven years in games against South you wouldn’t be complaining.

Dogman, it’s quite deliberate. It’s a feeble attempt by the WAFC to equalise the comp. The intention is that, as far as possible, the top sides play other top sides three times, and likewise for the bottom teams. There is of course an exception for marquee games like Derbies. Are you saying that on top of last year’s flag, 6 consecutive top 4 appearances and favourtism for this year’s flag, you also want to spend the home and away season administering floggings to Perth and Peel instead of getting battle hardened playing the teams you are likely to meet in the finals?

Missing my point boys.

I know for COMPETITION sake the top 4 play each other 3 times as do the bottom 5 as best possible if you know what I mean.

SF have played Subi, SD, WP, EF 3 times each year for a while now and it was no surprise when it happened again this year. Fair? Probably not, but if CL and EP look like being the big improvers this year then the top 4 sides won’t be thrashing it out against each other more often anyway . . .

ANYWAY . . . my point was, yes SF play Subi 3 times but why do subi get 2 of the 3 at home 4 years running? That stuff can be alternated just LIKE THE DERBIES ARE. 1 year South has the Foundation day one and EF get 2 home derbies, the next it switches.

Should be the exact same deal with other clubs playing 3 times a year on a regular basis.

Play subi three times, don’t really care 2 much about that, it’s the fact we play them twice at Medibank 4 years in a row out of those 3 games.

Not fair at all, in any way.

Maybe it’s a bit Rough Doggie, but for years,PERTH Supporters had to put up with playing WEST PERTH at Home once or zero times a year, whilst they usually got 2 Home games and their away game at a Neutral Venue(i.e.Subi Oval). That went back to 1981 until recent times.
