OK lets get this site (the Claremont section) arked up! I am sick of being the only contributor over the years under various names. I know you’re out there! Testies and the like, lets make this year one we over take the other club sites with regards to number of posts etc.

I am gonna try and recruit some punters down at the club to get in here and start participating as well. We should have a much better year in 2010 and the vibe at the club already is heaps better than in the previous 2.

Know any other Monts supporters? get them here!

Hey Tiger10, how about enlightening us on some of your Premiership colts boys coming up. Not the ones drafted but some of the lesser knowns that we may see in seniors this year?

Mate I seriously dont think there will be room! I can think of 9 players they will have to try and fit in to the league side - Brabazon, Crawford, Foster from EF, Lee and Laurie from the SANFL, James Read and Gabe Orr, Nic Chidgzey, Andrew Browne is back full time. You have all of last years senior list, very few losses and a host of AFL listed players.

If I had to choose though Lewis Broome will be a star! Watch out for a forward named Xavier Foley looks good and is a specialist goal kicker.

Nat Fyfe has been picked up by Freo and he will also be one to watch, kicked 6 goals in the GF.

Ryan Neates is another natural. I think these guys will mainly be playing rezzies though and possibly a league game every now and then. They dont have strong bodies yet.

Finally I would say last years captain Matt Davies and Gerrick Weedon (wat a name! sounds like a type of lawn) who was picked up by west coast.

Chidzey will struggle to get a game, as will other smalls like ex Swans Della Vedova. Gabe Orr is a good kid but wouldn’t play too much senior footy this year. Fyfe on the other hand will be an interesting one. I’d day he’s the one most equipped to come straight in and play a role up forward. Especially given he’ll be the 5th or 6th forward looked at after Richo, Jones and Crawf etc! Weedon will struggle at senior level is my tip. Love to be proven wrong though. As i’ve said previously, a prelim is possible for the Tiges in 2010.

Some that played league last year like Kane Mitchell, Taylor Harrison, Dylan Ross and Jake Murphy all looked likely young players. Is the return of AFL players going to keep them in the Reserves?

Like any other team it depends on form and thats one thing I will say for McPhee he rewards performance. As a club the tigers are still under pressure from the big boys to play the AFL blokes coming back from injury and that pisses me off immensely. The only bloke with the balls to tell them (WC and Freo) where to go was one G Neesham.

I remember watching him at a training session telling this bloke from the Weagles to F off after he commented that one of their stars coming back from injury MUST play in the backline.

Neesham was going off at this bloke “dont F’n tell me what position a player is gonna play I am the F’n coach IF he gets a game and its a big F’n IF at the moment he will start on the bench and then will play where I F’n say so” Was a classic moment as all the players stopped and watched. I reckon Neesh was gonna punch him out if he said anything back. This bloke was so embarrassed he turned and walked.

Dont know how I got onto that! but yeah we may have players leave at the end of 2010 to get a game elsewhere as the list of capable players is pretty long at this stage. Like any season though you never know the form guide or the players who will end up injured.

Tiges, some talk in the Ammos section that Tommy “committee member” Matson could be coaching at University?

Any mail?

Any chance of Scotchie Cousins returning from overseas to slip back into the team?

Claremont should be an improver in 2010 but after seeing a few pre xmas training sessions there appeared to be a disticnt lack of height and bigger bodies, they have some taller forwards in jones and crawford and staples but with micky warren gone who is going to hold down key defensive posts? Is handley going round again?

And the ruck division doesnt look to cut it with ruck and derricyx, any other big fellas coming thru?

Carn tiges!

Would think it unlikely McKenzie, Wilkes and Brett Jones would all play Eagles at the same time so that will assist. I think Beau Waters is also tied to Claremont so he may even play WAFL for a bit. What happened to Micky Warren?

Matson - not sure, still on the board and I dont think coaching at the ammos would affect that role too much, Cousens no he is still traveling.

Michael Warren - has he retired has he? I wasn’t aware of that. No mention on the Claremont web site?? I know Trinity Handley is not playing whether he will again remains to be seen but I think he has moved due to employment.

Dont underestimate Ruck and Dericx (spelling? weird name anyway) they have a few seasons under their belt now and will improve this year.

Thanks for that Good ‘un story TIGER.Wish I’d been there to see it.

The onlu problem with that(and it’s not a criticism of Gerard)is that the Eagles Squirt would have just gone running home to MUUMY(MICKY MALTHOUSE) and Dobbed. And then as a Retaliatory measure,WEST COAST most likely have moved the player to another club. cool mad
