What do you think tiger supporters?
Will lose Handley and that is it.
In come foster brabazon and browne!!
Plus all the players being blooded over the last too quiet seasons should
be improving every game!
Can’t see us finishing on top of Souths but any other team we could.
One of the best offseason recruiting lists i think.

Hard to guage how well Claremont has recruited.......you got to admit the amount of footy games Foster and Browne have played in the last 18 - 24 months you could writeon the back of a postage stamp......Brabazon could easily be as talented as Liam Bedford was.....ditto to Jess Laurie et al....whilst fella’s like Neates, Fyfe, Broome,Wheedon etc might have dominated at the colts level but the WAFL league is another level.....especially for the likes of very small men like Neates and Broome....
On paper Claremont look stronger, but a lot of the above signings have either an extensive injury history or little or no senior footy stats......the jump up from u/18’s is huge.....fella’s like Rich, Lucas, Swallow, Masten, Palmer, Pearce etc didn’t dominate in the WAFL first up....yeah they played some good footy but didn’t rip the comp apart.......though it would be good to see Claremont play all their youngsters and do well.

I think we are a few years off yet. We will be better which isnt saying much when you finish 2nd last the last 2 years. I think the younger blokes will be better and we havent really lost too many players. The additions will add experience so we will benefit from that but top 4? hmmm not sold yet!

Brabazon will be a gun at this level, very stiff to not get another AFL gig in my opinion. Add him and now Foster to Blackwell, Browne, Walton and Rudeforth, to name a few, and that makes a powerful midfield brigade. The Tigers will be the big improvers and cause plenty of trouble. I also believe a few players that left during Kerrs reign have returned like Gabe Orr, who showed plenty of promise 2 years ago.

there are 2 young blokes returning from the SANFL as well, Jess Laurie and Tom Lee and dont forget Nic Chidgzey also returns. Depth has been a problem over the past 2 years so at least we can field a decent side every week!

Talking to a work mate who plays doen tigerland he said the club has changed around 110% from the last 2 years! New Coach & good assistants the players are pumped for a big year.
The tigers have recruited well and credit should go to Claremont for trying to improve the players group from the players lost.
I will watch with great interest.

Now the vast majority of their list would have played colts under McPhee so you’d have to say that would be a positive for the club

Can see the Tiges definitely in the top 3 with Souths and Swans with East Perth nipping at the bottom end of the 4. Crawford back will be huge if he can regain some form early in the year. Should be a great year outside of Peel looking unlikely to win a game given their losses and Riggio going to the ducks. Subi will still win their fair share and West Perth and Perth wont be horrible but the top 5 sides should have a competitive season. Will be great to see the Tigers back at the top ofthe ladder like the 80’s and 90s!

Obviously 5 don’t fit into 4.... There’s going to be a big battle for those top 4 spots, especially spots 3 & 4, between Subi, EP & Claremont in that order 4 me….
Could be a CRACKER Round 23 game between EP & CL & Medibank…could decide the final spot…

be interested to revisit this post in 6 months time.....with Browne and Foster on the physio table again!!!......MacKenzie, Jones and Wilkes all playing good footy for WCE.......Bucovacz having a great yerar with Freo......Neates, Broome, Fyfe and Wheedon all struggling with the adjustment to WAFL footy from colts footy.......Laurie, Lee and Brabazon doing a Liam Bedford and finding life off an AFL list and playing in the WAFL not overly appetizing after all....and two fella’s are returning with average WAFL CV’s anyway...but saying that all that could happen the other way too.....
I just think it’s premature thinking Claremont are going to make huge strides up the table in 2010… a lot of variebles have to go in Claremont’s favour for success to occur.....though in sake for the WAFL there is nothing more exciting in seeing talented youngsters burning up the comp.

Anthony Jones was always injured when on an AFL list but once delisted and with less demands on his body, had a very successful WAFL career post AFL. Would think the same may happen with Browne and Foster, for their sakes at least.

My concern is you have a lot of blokes who havent played together like Foster, Brabazon wouldnt know the current team that well, three forwards all trying to get AFL attention in Jones Richo and Crawfs - no one knows until half way through the season. I remember the 93 flag we won against West Perth 93 94? somewhere around there - we were shite first half of the year and came back in a storm to win it - mind u we had one Dale Kickett and an excellent coach - still the best I reckon to ever coac the Tigers in G Neesham.
