Not condoning drugs KR. Everyone knows that his death was from an overdose of a mixture of drugs. What I am saying is that his immediate family (his wife and children) would have all the details that they need. It isn’t going to do her or his children any good to keep bringing this up. I don’t think the public need to know the sordid details of his death. Mainys father needs to talk to his daughter in law if he needs some answers. Mainys brother seems to be able to. As for his playing ability, you are insulting him by comparing him to Mcmanus, he was a far better player, why do you have to run eagles players down on their playing ablilities. You seem to forget he was a premiership player which is more than I or you, for that matter can say about any of your so called recent greats at Collingwood! (eg Buckles)

Deb...there’s a lot of average players that are premiership players, similarly there’s a lot of champions that aren’t premiership players!!!

Sure the family might or should know how and what he died of BUT if it became public then perhaps it might save plenty of kids who looked up to him from taking drugs...BC is still alive and well and he is the man that could change so many lives if he spoke out and became the face of an anti drugs campaign

G Ablett, N Buckley, R Harvey just to name a few from recent days and there’s countless others

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you’re a mile away and you have their shoes.

KR No one is putting Mainy in the same league as those but he was better than an average player mate, much better. I think I have a bit of an idea about footy and I would have him easily in the top 10 greatest Eagles in their history. That is my own point of view but to say he was an average over rated player I think you are a bit off the mark there. But it is also your opinion.

Let mainy rest in peace as far as the cause of death. I think hub may open a can of worms about mainy that maybe should remain closed. Mainy was a fantastic bloke, loved kids, and did alot for the community. Let his kids grow without all this shit going on. Love ya Mainy...........

Condoning drug use again Deb????

Perhaps if the truth came out it might just save Mainwarings Kids and many others from a similar fate!!!
But NO...cos he could “play” football (he wasn’t that bloody good - McManus was his prodigy at Freo!!!), he can take drugs, die from an overdose and die a “hero” and have tribute football matches played in his “honour”.
Yes the game is great for donating money to sick kids, nobody denies that, but perhaps if the truth came out it may save a lot of kids from getting into drugs!!!

**** me - what a hypocrite.
at least mainy died at home, millane was speeding more ways than one and was massively fortunate to not have killed anyone stupidly driving pissed, speeding and off his tree and yet he remains a hero.
sorry a collingwood player, that makes it okay. boy - was it glossed over by the magpie fraternity

did anyone question where he got his fix from.

dont think you should talk this up kr, but then again you follow collingwood, and your supporters are a rul;e unto themselves - eh didak, shaw??

I don’t remember the Drugs bit on PANTS.The GROG alone was enough to do him in and it was DARN SIGHT Lucky he didn’t kill anyone else.

Of course, the one who did a DAMNING Article on MILLANE was CARO.It was in MILLANE’S story in JACK DYER’S WILDMEN of FOOTY.
