Can’t blame the kid for signing, he knows he is going to get get drafted by these jokers next year, might as well get into the system now rather than later. Though I’ll be interested to see how a bunch of predominantly 17 y/18 year olds go in the VFL....lambs to the slaughter I reckon....though saying that Swallow will achieve any where he goes.
Be interested to see if Darling goes now, especially with Matera and Swallow now going. Also come the u/18 state champs next year who do Swallow and Matera represent....QLD? I bet the new WA u/18 coach will be spewing if his 3 best players are all playing for QLD.
Also I thought GC17 could only sign fella’s actually 17 years old this year, Swallow is still 16 till later in the year, be very interested to see who gets the dosh when Swallow gets drafted next year...EF or GC17?
Very sad for the WAFL that these boys won’t be playing in the comp next year, sadly they will be getting hammered in the VFL...physically at least. Though whilst I can see Swallow’s point for signing and leaving because EF may again struggle next year....Matera going over east instead of playing in a possible WAFL GF for SF surprises me.....perhaps he got the hump for getting dropped for this years league GF for those two old buggers in Farmer and Bell?.......a man scorned perhaps?
