Good to take a win from the dungeon we call Mandurah today.

Late goals made the score line look good for peel who played well in patches but swans had far too much class although the foot skills were poor for most of the day. Also good to see Tallan Ames carried off in his 100th, he was solid again today and will push hard or the Swan Medal.

Best players would have to be Roberts who was a magnet and as tough as nails, Geapen towled Peel number 9 Mecloed who i reckon was the days biggest hack. Ipa was strong in the backline along with spencer who if he used the ball would be top line player. Robinson was busy in the first half but faded. Colreavy was ok but not his best game this season, Langes presence as a leader is probably his best atribute at this stage of the season, he did though take a couple of good grabs. Davis was great on half back, Spanderman was pretty good back from suspension and Natanui had reasonable influence on the game. Notte was poor, looks to lack intensity.
Before i give the worst players ill declare that im definately not stil bashing Pratt.

With that declaration i purely comment on todays game without predjudice but Pratt was woeful. Yes Ballantyne is the Sandover Medalist and Dawson should of had the faster Casserley on him but Pratt didnt know how to play him. He was flat footed, out of position in almost all contests and gave away several frees. He left other swans backmen looking to the box at times begging for a change.

Walters was definately the low light for swans today. He was soft at the ball, and looks like he has changed his attitude this season and gets drawn into side play with his opponent, today he gave away atleast 4 frees and a 50metre penalty. Im sorry to the soft but surely he needs to be taught a lesson and dropped for a week until he gets his head screwed back on. Simpson was given very little game time and his tackling chasing and goal in that time shows hes a much better option.

Looking on, Subi and Souths in the next two weeks. Win one and thats a pass mark for the team id say.

Clancee pearce was very, very good and should be close to a dockers game. Walters is okay but needs to do the basics a bit better and try to be less flashy. In Pratts defence there were two goals from free kicks against him where the umpires attitude was ‘oh here’s that little mandurah success story-lets give him a free kick.’ Ballantyne beat him but can you honestly believe that Peels history is that poor and desperate that they’ve named a wing after him? Already? I mean seriously…
Wolfenden was great, as was Geappen and Robinson. Disagree about Notte- thought his second half was really good. You’d think any player that is showing a bit at the moment on either the dockers or eagles list will get a run next week. Wasn’t a great game and the kicking was prett crap but we still kicked 19 goals. Peel were never going to win.

Even allowing for FLYING JOHNSON’s assessment on Walters,I’m just Curious.Did he play on that Annoying LITTLE SHIT Called RORY O’BRIEN or that SNIPER in QUENTIN BOLTON?

HaHa yes how could i forget that disgusting embarrassment to the WAFL. A club naming the wing after a 22 year old. As if the mutant doesnt need anything else to make him think hes better. And yes i agree probably two frees agaist pratt werent dead set but because he wasnt in a ggood enough position the umpire had to give the peasant a free.

Sorry for excluding pierce, he was good and prob one of the only people to hit a lot of targets.

Finallly taking the Hayden Ballentyne Wing and their sniping attitude along with their alien fans i thinks it time for the WAFL to return to an 8 club comp and use the money thats saving peel to make the traditional clubs financial stronger position. Then the WAFL constitution should be changed to block the entry of any new team in the future

As an interested but non biased viewer of the game yesterday I feel I can make a comment or two that says how the game really went.

Swans were lucky to win, peel matched them in most areas of the game except the kicking for goal which was hopeless. Swans certainly got a caning from the umpires especially in Peels forward line.

Peel were down to 20 men from a fairly early part of the game which clearly affected their ability to compete.

I believe the “Hayden Ballantyne” wing was so named because his Grandmother ? made a significant contribution to the club from a recent lotto win. Understandable that the club would recognise it in some way but still very embarassing.

It was a pretty good game of footy all day and some of Swans movements with the ball were brilliant.

fair summation except for swans being lucky to win, they were another class above but just didnt hit targets enough. Peel’s points only consisted of a few gimme shots.

As for the wing, the fact his family has paid the club in a trade off to have the wing named after him is enough t curdle fresh milk. That is a disgrace and embarrassing to the WAFL. But who could be suprised with Peel its always AMATUER HOUR

considering Peel only lost by 3 goals....those FEW gimme misses proved costly then FJ.....seems like Peel didn’t hit enough targets either mate....perhaps SD were lucky to win in the end.....but saying that SD seemed to be well in control for quarters 2 and 3.....be interested if Nats gets the nod from Woosha next week....

If 100k will buy you a Ballantyne Wing, what would Alli have to pay to get a Pickett Pocket?

FJ I take on board your comment about not bashing Pratt;it seems to me that since he came back from his game for the Dockers he has lost his way and may be down on confidence.  The frees he gave away by the letter of the interpretation they were there it is just a pity that the same interpretation was not afforded to the Swans forwards.
