Can someone in the know come up with Subi’s best 22 as a guide for round 1 ???

I would be interested to see it - including the few recruits and some of the colts from last year pushing up.

I am hanging out to see the lions and how we’ll shape up in 2012.

All would have to agree we really did over achieve in 2011. At the start of the year was expecting to push for finals after 10 wins in 2010. By mid season it looked really grim at 3 & 7 and thoughts of how to stay ahead of Peel were in mind. Anyway history shows we had a stellar run to and into the finals to be rolled by clearly the best WAFL outfit. 12 wins got us to 3rd spot so need to target a minimum 2 game improvement to get top 2. History shows it’s too hard to do it from the 1st semi. We have lost Rix, Hedla Ali & Keevo so far and hints that Hughes could head back east or get drafted. Fair chance that Horse will get drafted along with a couple of the colters. If so there are opportunities for the ressies and colts to put their hands up for a league gig along with some good recruiting. We need to find a key forward and back, ruckman and a mid-filder or 2 from within or outside the club. Someone mentioned the Port melbourne double liston medalist midfielder who I’m sure will be targeted by every SANFL & W club. if we bring the right blokes in we can push for top 2.

You can expect that CL will be top 2 again unless they have a GF hangover of Bombo Valley proportions.

Joo are an interesting case, speaking to a Joo person who is in the know, said there is plenty of dissatisfaction from all sectors with Billy. I find this hard to believe after the drastic improvement this season, yes they collapsed at the end but injuries played a big part. they should be there or there about.

Souths could drift next year as the aging group will be another year older. They have a stellar group in their premiership colts group but that may make more of a difference in 2013 than next year, They will need to target some quality recruits especially to replace Graham.

EF again will be pushing for finals, but seem to struggle with the big group of AFL boys they have to fit in, something Cl seem to have little problem with.

Perth can make the finals next year with a few blokes coming up from their 2nd placed ressies and some well targeted recruits. They made great gains this year and i would have thought their coach would have got C of the Y.

EP blooded heaps of kids this year thus their hot and cold form. Expect them to be much better next year but finals may still be another year away.

Swans still have a very good list and if they have a better run with injuries should definitely be finals contenders. The only unknown is their coach, if they are struggling at the halfway mark he may be in real danger. My tip is the team will do well despite him.

Peel, appeared to have improved and won more games this year than the past couple but will be looking at another spoon imo.

Brendan Rinaldi

I understand Brendan Rinaldi has signed with Subi (footygoss previously reported he was in talks with the club). I understand suitable employment has been found in Perth and he should join the squad in the next couple of weeks.

Brendan is a 22 year old ruckman/key position player who played regular senior footy with the Box Hill Hawks.

Well done to the staff at SFC as they continuously look to improve the list.

It’s a bit quiet in Subi land for my liking...no announcements of new signings other than Phiilips and Sinclair...has anyone been to preseason yet and if so, how are the boys looking?

For those that are current members and those who are interested in joining the past players and supporters group ,we are holding our AGM this coming sunday the 22/1/2012 at 10.30 am in our social rooms
leederville oval come along for the meeting and then a sausage sizzle and drinks afterwood, if intersted in the commitee come at 10 am.

i know we have lost a heap of players but you cannot tell me we have not recruited one new player.

come on guys in the know, what’s happening. the cllub never seems to report recruit signings for some reason.

help us out.

congrats to kyle horsley for getting a shot at afl with GC
is a genuine no nonsense footballer and hope he gets a good run and the chance to play afl in his time there (and then comes back to play for west coast with a few subi games in the mix)
enjoyed his season last year and was a big reason why we got in the mix for the premiership by seasons end

i reckon he will model his game a bit on what broughton did at the dockers, with a bit of the way campbell brown goes about it at GC thrown in the mix
