At least this bloke nows what he is getting into, not like the other muppets who came, gave nothing and left.

Smith and him working in tandem with Shaq crumbing would be a good combination. I would still like to Biz in the ruck tho’.

Seems awfully quite at EP land, which is a great thing!

To use a line from a good coach there are 4 results in development football - a loss (where players coaches and support do not give everything), being beaten ( by a better team) breaking even ( win or loss by a small margin) or a win.

having just watched games from all clubs seems to me that there are some really good players out there to watch and enjoy in the years to come.

It still seems that some clubs operate on a win at all cost attitude whilst the clubs who are into development see that by playing lots of boys keeps them interested and maybe just mybe the small kid will have a growth spurt and be something outta the box.

There were a few things that may need to be addressed, slinging tackles, appealling for frees, picking the ball up from below their knees and a general skill level.

Slinging players at this level is simply dangerous and should be dealt with a a yellow card, no if’s buts or maybe’s.

Appeal for a free is a bad habit and should be dealt with by coaches, play the game and play it to get the ball not the free.

I watch a lot of games and guess what it is not just the tall boys who struggle to pick the ball up from below their knees, seems to me that being able to pick up the pill with either hand on both sides is a lost art or is it just not a glamorous thing to do!

It seems that everyone wants to be a leCrass. So many missed goals because boys want to do the specky rather than the easy option of running straight at the target and using the the tried and true drop punt. The rolled or grubber kick has its place but not as the staple kick when a straight kick on the run does the job more often than not,

Call me old fashioned but coaches need to make more of the issue and reward players who do the simple things better!

Do you feel you want to detract your comments re; WP cant kick over 12 goals a game, I believe the money spending Ferals have got this completely wrong. The only bloke giving you anything is former Falcon Josh Smith and he can go and get f5cked too !!!

As I have said in many posts and so many times, promote your own, create a happy culture/environment and results will come, not buy has been AFL players that could not give a toss, eg: Pettifer was a dead set disgrace v WP !

Thanks ferals for giving Claremont a hard bruising game, couple of their players getting reported and more possible reports to come with an investigation into the melee. Regardless if those players get suspended or fined/reprimanded, it’s a distraction going into a 2nd semi final. Thanks ferals.

Aah the sounds of pre season beckon, the leaves will turn green, the grass will grow a little longer and others will chase glory but not EP.

The promise of so much that dwindle to being so little, less that a VW players dick in an ice bath.

I can only hope that on this first saturday in september we continue the process of development. Yes we will lose the colts but I hope that we win at least one qtr, the ressies hopefully will lose by less that 5 goals and the league will try to say goodbye to those who leave with some honour.

Oh well another day on the hill with zinc in hand and a wet arse from the grass just the way to remember the 2011 season.
