not one for picking sides pre season....too early I reckon.....but here goes

BP: Stephen FB: Dodd BP: Warren

HB: Brennan CHB: Young HB: Schofield

W: Dalziell C: McGough W: Duffy

HF: Menagola CHF: Monaco HF: BOB

FP: L Foster FF: Perham FP: Tropiano

R: Gabriel RR: Fasolo Rov: ROB

INT: Yeo, Leslie, Boyle, Henson, Howlett, Chalwell, Weller, Papertalk, Sutcliffe

AFL: Masten, Sheppard, Stevens, Brown,Dick(if ever fit) and Griffen

With Griffen available the dynamics of the team changes ten fold.....

Can see some goal kicking potential with youngsters in Monaco, Perham, L Foster and Menagola interchanging through the key positions......with the likes of BOB, Dick and Duffy as medium - small goal kicking forwards......talls in Gabriel, Warren, Young, Weller and Chalwell and even young Symonds providing some versatility for EF in the ruck, up back and up front.

For me I really hope Monaco, Foster Chalwell, Duffy and young mids in Boyle, Henson and Tropiano really take their chances in 2012 and establish themselves as regulars in the league team.

I seriously hope EF bypass the reverse draft......at present their are 5 ES boys all under 190cm.....the last thing EF need is a skinny medium height fella playing league in front of an EF local lad.........no more 189 cm and less players please......EF seriously don’t need them.......give them to Peel to help bolster their ranks

I can still see the likes of Eardley, Duffy and perhaps Sandilands going in the rookie draft......more likely over east though......pity that because for me Eardley and Duffy could easily be making their league debuts in 2012........Eardley could easily replace the loss of Monteath whilst Duffy could be a goal kicking forward with a bit of x factor about him.......though he is only 185cm!

recently heard that Dick has turned down a rookie contract with Collingwood and keen to come back to WA....also pretty good mates with Davis too.....definitely EF should be having a close word with Dick.

not too sure how dodgy Dick’s knee is, but the WAFL is less physical and intense than the AFL, Dick’s pace and goalkicking skills would be handy down at Moss Street.....be nice to front up with an Ali Pickett type player against Subi and giving them a taste of their own medicine for a change.

Can’t see Perham getting picked up, he would be handy up front at 192cm.....Collingwood list is just too strong at present for the likes of Jack. Also heard Menagola turned down a rookie contract with Hawthorn......perhaps another club has had a chat in his ear....Freo perhaps?.....be good to get Menagola back down to EF too...the kid made the colts team of the year in 2010......at 192cm he would also be handy up front with the likes of Perham and Monaco.....and another more experienced tall forward.......

With Gabriel, Young, Warren,Weller, Lee Steere and more than likely Griffen around in 2012, EF do have a surplus of talls....not really goalkicking ones but ones to fill key positions up back and in the ruck at least. Not too sure if young Symonds(201 cm) or Sandilands(204 cm) will get drafted......thus two more...... talls bleedin every where for EF in 2012......

well here we are xmas time again......1st lot of pre season training done and dusted......where does EF sit?

Getting Gabriel early on in the piece was a good start.......probably a misleading one to boot......since then JMac has moved on......Monteath has moved on......I believe Ware has gone home to.....chcha tells us Lee Steere and Davidson have moved on as well, nothing confirmed as yet though. Going off the EF players website......Chidlow is not there nor Dunn.....

Foster returns which is great news, needs to stay fit for opposition folks to see why EF fans constantly rate him. Perham and Schofield in the mix, whilst Freo and WCE have gone out and recruited Dick and Menagola on Gaspars behalf.......any more possible recruits on the horizon.....from what was indicated on the EFFC xmas message, the club is happy with it’s list depth......mmmm lets take a look.

Ruck: Gabriel, Warren, Young are the 3 main guys here....with Symonds on the fringes and perhaps Lee-Steere(if stil around)....Griffen from time to time, which in all honesty frees up the main three guys to play forward or back......perhaps Lyon will want Griffen to play up front in the WAFL......
Sandilands jnr in the colts......so EF has a plethora of rucking guys I reckon.

Backs: Either Warren or Young will spend time up back if Gabriel is doing well in the ruck or if Griffen plays WAFL. Weller is there and there abouts, reliable and steady, as ever, in the last line of defence.
Stephen to build on his great 2011 and be EF number one small defender.......Corey Yeo and Schofield to be that rebounding defender perhaps, that JMac did so well in 2011.......Dodd, at the WAFL level is tall enough and mobile enough to take the opositions tall/medium forward. I would really like to see young Tyler Chalwell take up the slack this year and play CHB.....194 cm and with great mobility. Brennan will no doubt work his way into WCE first 22.....but not just yet........the guy is improving each year and played some great footy out of defence in 2011.........might see Malaxos try Tropiano or Boyle as a David Rankin type back pocket player.......Teakle back to the defence perhaps.......young Jupp from the colts comes with a good reputation too......hopefully still growing at 18/19 yrs of age and currently 191/192 cm........

Midfield:......no longer have the 3 M’s any more.....only McGough.....not as consistent as he was in 2010, so I hope the skipper bounces back. ROB had a standout year in 2011, hopefully he can repeat it again in 2012. Fasolo played some good games in 2011........Connor Davidson if still around needs to keep out of the injury box to show his potential........the youngsters in Boyle, Tropiano,Henson and Hancock played some sound reserves footy at times with the first two sneaking a few league games......I reckon EF could struggle through the midfield with the likes of Stevens, Sheppard and Masten playing more AFL than WAFL in 2012......Dalziell will play more WAFL than AFL......gets a lot of the footy but not as penetrating as he should be. One of the reverse draftees will come throught the midfield I reckon........be lucky enough to get Spurr, resulting in Schofield or Yeo coming into the midfield perhaps. Callum Leslie,if still around, needs a decent run to do what Monteath, Conway and Bognascia did a few years back....step up and contribute week in week out as a 2nd tier player. Hadley to me isn’t mobile enough anymore to play purely midfield.....can see his mid range height pinch hitting up forward and up back I reckon.
Also Freo may want Menagola to run through the midfield from time to time.......Also Papertalk may get a run throught the middle at times.....pity Eliot Yeo and Eardley didn’t get drafted locally!

Did you ever wonder why there are no dead penguins on the ice in Antarctica
where do they go?
Wonder no more ! ! !
It is a known fact that the penguin is a very ritualistic bird which lives an extremely
ordered and complex life. The penguin is very committed to its family and will mate for
life, as well as maintain a form of compassionate contact with its offspring throughout its
life.
If a penguin is found dead on the ice surface, other members of the family and social
circle have been known to dig holes in the ice, using their vestigial wings and beaks, until
the hole is deep enough for the dead bird to be rolled into, and buried.

The male penguins then gather in a circle around the fresh grave and sing:

“Freeze a jolly good fellow.”
“Freeze a jolly good fellow.”

Then, they kick him in the ice hole.

....see boys, we all know freeze is a good bloke!!!!!
